Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Program and General Surgery Info
Pet overpopulation is a growing problem in the city of New Orleans. Our goal is to stop pet overpopulation and decrease the number of dogs and cats that end up in shelters. The Humane Society estimates that approximately 3 million cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies that enter shelters are euthanized each year. Unfortunately, many members of our community simply cannot afford the cost of surgery to spay their pet. That's why we've started our low-cost spay and neuter program, to make these surgeries easy and affordable for everyone. We honor the Jefferson Parish Voucher Program for all Jefferson Parish residents. We require proof of rabies vaccination for all patient procedures (provide rabies certificate or medical record, not a rabies label). Why spay/neuter? Keep shelter populations low: 70% of shelter cats are euthanized each year56% of shelter dogs are euthanized each yearBenefits for your pet's health: Decreases the risk of breast cancer Decreases the risk of prostate cancer Eliminates the risks of life-threatening uterine infections (pyometra).
